Rumour – NFC chip spotted in leaked iPhone 5 shots The latest batch of purported iPhone 5 spy photos feature a mysterious chip – could it be NFC? A new collection of leaked shots of what is reportedly the Apple iPhone 5 have emerged, and if genuine they suggest that, as so often predicted, the phone willsport an NFC chipfor easy mobile paymentsand the like. Chinese siteApple.proposted the shots, which purportedly show the front plate innards of the smartphone....

Rumour – Nokia PureView Windows Phone on the way The smartphone is codenamed “EOS” and features a similar camera to the Nokia 808 PureView, say bean-spillers Nokia is working on a Windows Phone with PureView camera technology, according to internet rumours. The Vergehas learned (from “sources familiar with Nokia’s plans”) that the smartphone, codenamed EOS, will feature a similar sensor to that on the Nokia 808 PureView. That’s exciting stuff, becausewe were mightily impressedby the 808’s 41MP photo skills – but it was held back by its Symbian operating system....

First up in the series is the Samsung Ativ S, a Windows 8 Phone handset (the first ever announced!) with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen. The design on this one looks really top drawer – there’s metal on there, unlike on Samsung’s Android phones....
