Apple Brings Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro to iPad, Starting at $5 Per Month

Starting from May 23rd, iPad users can have access to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro fromApplefor a monthly fee of $4.99 or a yearly fee of $49. The Mac versions of the apps cost $199.99 and $299.99 respectively.
The apps have different compatibility requirements. Final Cut Pro needs aniPad with an M1 chipor newer, while Logic Pro supports iPads with an A12 Bionic chip or newer.iPadOS 16.4is required for both apps.
Enhancements for iPads will be available in video and music editing apps. Final Cut Pro will have a new jog wheel that enables users to edit through finger and multi-touch gestures, making navigating the magnetic timeline, moving clips, and performing edits more accessible.
The Live Drawing feature enables you to draw and write with your Apple Pencil on video content. If you own an iPad Pro equipped with an M2 chip, you can use the hover function of your Apple Pencil to skim and preview footage without touching the screen.
The Pro camera mode on the iPad allows video creators to have greater control over the creation process. They can shoot high-quality videos in either portrait or landscape orientation, and monitor available recording time and audio. There is also manual control over settings like focus, exposure, and white balance. The iPad allows for capturing, editing, and publishing from the same device. Those using the M2 on iPad Pro can record in ProRes. Multicam video editing is also possible with automatic synchronization and the ability to switch angles with a single touch.
The iPad version of Logic Pro includes touch-friendly features that let you use multi-touch gestures to play software instruments and interact with controls. It also has a sound browser with dynamic filtering that helps you discover different types of sounds, such as instrument patches, audio patches, plug-in presets, samples, and loops.
Apple has introduced a new plug-in for Logic Pro called Beat Breaker which allows you to morph time and pitch. The plug-in also lets you shuffle and reshape sounds by swiping and pinching. It supports the use of Apple Pencil, giving you the ability to draw detailed track automation.
Apple is offering a one-month free trial for both Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro. To use keyboard commands, you can pair the apps with a Magic Keyboard or Smart Keyboard Folio. You can also move projects in Logic Pro between the app on Mac and iPad. Additionally, you can export songs into Final Cut Pro for iPad. If you have created projects in GarageBand on iOS, Logic Pro on iPad allows you to open them.
