ASUS remains a worthy competitor in the tablet space. The name may not be on top of our lists yet but the Taiwanese tech giant is certainly a name not to be ignored when it comes to the tablet game.
The latest from the brand is the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Windows tablet. It’s the 2023 model of the version released back in 2021. This one though is a refreshed version with the latest processors. The original model was released with Pentium Silver N6000 processors. The Window tablet is now ready with Intel Alder Lake-N processors, specifically, Intel N200 and Core i3-N300.
ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Improved Specs
ASUS bumps the device with up to 512GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD or 256GB UFS 2.1 storage, and up to 8GB LPDDR5 RAM. A microSD card reader is included for a bigger storage capacity. Several new features have been added too like the ASUS AI noise-canceling technology and the ASUS 3D Noise Reduction (3DNR) technology working with the FHD IR webcam. The wireless connectivity is also faster now jumping to Bluetooth 5.2 from the previous 5.0.
ASUS offers the VivoBook 13 Slate to the affordable convertible tablet category. It has the same 13.3-inch OLED screen that can be used both as a touchscreen display and as a PC screen. The display also comes with 1080p 60Hz resolution, 550 nits of brightness, 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and Dolby Vision HDR support.

The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Advantage
The OLED touchscreen display works well with the Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0-ready ASUS Pen 2.0 stylus. There are four interchangeable pen tips to use, offering different textures and a more natural feel for drawing.
Hardware-wise, the 2023 model’s chassis is thicker at 9MM versus the 8mm of the 2021 release. With the improvements come extra weight but is not really noticeable from 780g to 800g. A detachable keyboard also adds to the weight, totaling to 2.87 lbs when attached.
The 2023 VivoBook 13 Slate still comes with the same port options from the audio jack to a pair of USB-C 3.2 Gen 2. Its audio is decent enough with the tablet’s quad stereo speaker system, Dolby Atmos, and smart amplifier. The tablet supports 65W fast charging thru a 50Wh battery. Other notable features include an IR sensor for biometric login and faster WiFi 6 (802.11 ax).

ASUS also made sure the VivoBook 13 Slate works with other devices and accessories. The Mirror and Extend features allow you to connect to a bigger display. For those who work with several devices at once, the Unify Control feature may be helpful so you only use one mouse and one keyboard even when across different OS. The tablet is said to run Windows 11 Home S, Windows 11 Home, or Windows 11 Pro.
Pricing is still unknown but its predecessor was initially listed with a $599 price. Market availability is still undetermined but it should be ready in the first half of 2023.
