During its July Unpacked event, Samsungintroducedits latest lineup of Galaxy Tab S9 series in addition to its latest foldable devices. These tablets, including theGalaxy Tab S9, S9+, and the larger Tab S9 Ultra, boast impressive displays and powerful internals. Despite their impressive specifications, these tablets come with a hefty price tag, with the entry-level Tab S9 starting at $800 and the S9 Ultra priced at $1,200. Recent leaks have suggested that Samsung is working on a more affordable Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ and Galaxy Tab S9 FE.
Although no official announcement was made last month, it seems that the launch of these tablets is imminent as the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ hasrecently receivedcertification from the FCC. This tablet with a large 12.4-inch display is anticipated to share similarities with the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, but will come with upgraded internal components.
Recentreportsrevealed that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ will come powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, which is also found in the Galaxy A34 and the Galaxy A54 smartphones. This chipset boasts superior performance compared to the Snapdragon 750G present in the 5G version of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, and is on par with the Snapdragon 778G used in the 5G variant of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
Typically, when a device appears in the FCC, it usually indicates that the product will be launched within a few weeks. However, considering that only a week has passed since the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event, a launch of the Fan Edition models of the tablets announced by Sammy would be rather unusual. The FCC listing reveals two versions of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus, identified by their model numbers SM-X610 and SM-X616B. The former corresponds to the Wi-Fi-only model, while the latter supports 5G connections.
Additionally, the listing confirms various specifications and design elements. As anticipated, it features a dual-camera setup on the rear and a designated spot for charging an S Pen. Moreover, there is support for keyboard accessories and 45W wired charging. Unfortunately, this FCC listing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus does not provide any further information. The schematics in the listing reveal that the tablet will feature a dual-camera configuration. The certification also shows that the tablet will be equipped with a battery bearing the model number EB-BX818ABY. Besides these details, no other specifications of the tablet are disclosed by the FCC certification.
Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ expected specifications
According to a recent leak, it is speculated that the Tab S9 FE+ will feature a 12.4-inch display. In terms of security, the tablet may come equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Powering the tablet could be Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 chipset. Additionally, theprevious leakalso suggests that the Tab S9 FE will include a dual speaker system and a smart connector. In terms of optics, the Tab S9 FE+ might come with a dual-camera setup. The tablet is expected to measure 285.4 x 185.4 x 6.54 mm. The tablet may be available in Light Green, Light Pink, and Silver color options.
In addition to the Tab S9 FE+, there have been reports indicating that Samsung is developing another version called the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE is expected to feature a 10.9-inch display, dual speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, according to rumors. In terms of the camera, it is anticipated to have a single lens. As for the dimensions, the Tab S9 FE is projected to measure approximately 254.3 x 165.8 x 6.7mm.
The release date for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ has not been disclosed yet. However, given that these tablets have now received certification and their specifications, as well as renders, have been unveiled, it is reasonable to anticipate Samsung launching them in the coming weeks.
