HTC One X temporarily banned in USA due to Apple patent

Bad news for One X-owning hopefuls across the pond as Apple’s lawyers strike again

Stuff’sHTC One X reviewlavished HTC’s latest flagship Android handset with praise, which is why we feel the pain of American gadgeteers as news of a temporary ban in the USA has reached our shores,The Vergereports.

Apple’s lawyers are (perhaps unsurprisingly) wielding the banhammer, which has resulted in the HTC One X and Evo 4G LTE being indefinitely delayed at customs.

The culprit? An infringement on Apple patent #5,946,647, which outlines the basic functionality of tapping a phone number in, for example, a webpage, before selecting to either call or message it.

This isn’t the first time that Apple’s lawyers have caused a stir – just ask Samsung, whose recently unveiledGalaxy S3handset is more rounded than its predecessors, most likely as a response to Apple’smultiple lawsuits against them.

Lets hope that things get sorted quickly, for the sake of our American Android brothers who are understandably distressed during this difficult time.
