It seems like Huawei is going to release theHuawei MediaPad M6outside of China soon. The 10.8-inch version appeared onAmazon GermanyandAmazon Franceon November 20th. Yes, the tablet is being sold by Amazon directly in both cases and not by a third-party seller. That generally means that a device is being released in Europe officially. Amazon itself does not import tablets like this from China.
The MediaPad M6 will probably be released in other European countries like Spain, Italy and Britain too. It would be very unusual if they decided to sell it in Germany and France only. Huawei has a strong presence in many Asian countries. So, who knows, it might be sold in Thailand and other countries soon too.
According to the Amazon listing, the MediaPad M6 will be sold for 343.23 Euros in Germany and 346.12 Euros in France. That’s for the WiFi version with 64GB of storage. However, it won’t be in stock until December 28th the earliest. Don’t get too attached to that date though. I’m observing listings like this all the time and it can go on sale much earlier once it’s in stock.
With Or Without Google Play Store?
Huaweiannounced the 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch M6 in June. Due to the trade war between the US and China, the tablet was released in China only and never made it to other markets. Well, at least not officially. Several Chinese shops are exporting the tablet to Europe and the United States. However, the Google Play Store is not pre-installed on those devices. Some offer to install it for you though.
It’s unclear if Huawei is going to ship the tablet with the Google Play Store in Europe. The listing states that it is running EMUI 10.0.1 which is based on Android 10. But the Play Store is not mentioned anywhere.
The Huawei MediaPad M6 features a 10.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of internal storage, and a fingerprint scanner. You can get it with an optional active stylus called M Pen Lite and an optional keyboard cover. It’s design and internal hardware are similar to theHuawei MediaPad M5 10 (review).
By the way,the 8.4-inch versionis not listed anywhere yet.
