Lenovo (Smart) Tab P10 & M10: Android 9.0 Pie OTA Update Started
The Lenovo Tab P10, Tab M10, Smart Tab P10, and Smart Tab M10 are getting an OTA update to Android 9.0 Pie. Here is what we know about that upgrade.

Lenovo has started to roll out an update to Android 9.0 Pie for theLenovo Tab P10andLenovo Tab M10. Both are mid-range tablets that were released in 2018. The almost identical but with Alexa smart speakers equipped Smart Tab P10 and Smart Tab M10 are getting the same update.
A reader notified us about these updates. He just bought the Tab P10 in Germany and got an update notification a couple of hours after buying it. So, thanks to Stefan for letting us know. This news is confirmed by the Lenovo Upgrade Matrix. According to them, the P10 and M10 started to get Android 9 in June of 2019.
Sadly, it also says that the cheaperLenovo Tab E10won’t get any further updates. It’s stuck with Android 8.
The Lenovo Tab P10 and Tab M10 belong to a small selection of tablets running almost pure vanilla Android. Unlike devices from Samsung and Huawei, they don’t install a heavy custom interface. However, that doesn’t keep Lenovo from shipping some additional software features like desktop modes or kids modes.
Lenovo Tab P10 & M10: Still Up-To-Date With Android 9?
Thanks to the OTA update to Android 9.0 Pie for the Lenovo Tab M10 and P10, both tablets continue to be up-to-date. This is very important for Lenovo because the very similarSamsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 2018 got an update to Android 9already. You might also want to know that theHuawei MediaPad T5 10is still running Android 8. That one is a direct competitor to the Lenovo Tab M10 – that is running Android 9 now.
I think the Lenovo Tab P10 continues to be a good choice if you’re looking for a good mid-range tablet with four speakers, a fingerprint scanner, and Android 9. If you don’t care about the fingerprint sensor or the four speakers, theSamsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019is a more powerful and cheaper alternative.

we bought a P10 4/64GB for testing and after some days there was the update. Then we bought a larger number of P10 with 3/32GB and there is no update 🙁
