The free Fedora Remix Linux distro, aimed at programming beginners, is now available todownload from the Raspberry Pi website. And we suggest you do so sharpish – with it, you get office apps like word processing and image editing tools plus Firefox. So you could hook up your Raspberry Pi to your TV via HDMI and get browsing in minutes.

If you’re still nervous about the level of tinkering, there’s an easy Windows installer to let you stick the Fedora Remix software packages onto an SD card that you can then slot into into your main Raspberry Pi board.
