Samsung Galaxy S III could be just 7mm thin
The new flagship Samsung handset is going to be one of the thinnest in the world, but won’t be short on features
The Samsung Galaxy S III is becoming one of the most hyped gadget releases of the year, even with theiPhone 5 appearing as soon as June 10. But right now the big news is that the Galaxy S 3 is going to stun us with one of the world’s thinnest forms at just 7mm thick. That makes the 9.3mm depth of theiPhone 4Slook positively obese – and is just 0.32mm thicker than the world’s slimmest smartphone, theHuawei Ascend P1 S.
The story, leaked on Korea’sElectronic Times News, comes from unnamed sources who also claim to know the phone’s specs. Rather disappointingly they’re betting on an 8MP camera (as opposed to the13MP camera the Galaxy Note Smay be getting), a Super AMOLED display, andAndroid 4.0 Ice Cream SandwichOS. Quad-core insides and Google Android 4.0 IceCream Sandwich are still on the cards, as is the support for Galaxy Note-like stylus support.
It all sounds plausible and with Mobile World Congress just around the corner, February would be an ideal time for Samsung to get the quad-core drop on its competitors like theHTC EdgeandiPhone 5.
