Samsung Might Bring Out Two Galaxy Tab S9 FE Tablets This Year
Yes, you read it right! This year, we might get two Tab S9 FE tablets from Samsung.

Samsung’s upcoming lineup of the Galaxy Tab S9 tablets just got bigger! In addition to the vanilla, plus and ultra versions they’ve already announced, two more devices were recently discovered on Geekbench-theGalaxy Tab S9 FE. We’re still not sure why Samsung is releasing these additional models but one thing is for certain – there are now more options for you to choose from when it comes time to purchase your tablet device later this year.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series has already been revealed viaseveral leaksand now it appears that these new FEs will be launching in 2023. Even more exciting? Both devices were spotted on an online benchmark sporting the same Exynos chip – meaning they’re likely to have similar specs and features.
Recently, a mysterious Samsung tablet (model SM-X516B) was unearthed in theGeekbenchbenchmark. It is widely speculated that this could be the rumored Galaxy Tab S9 FE. But then, an additional device with model number SM-X616B surfaced onGalaxyClub— pointing to a possibility of two Fan Edition tablets from Samsung being released later this year. Despite our uncertainty regarding Samsung’s plans, we eagerly anticipate the market reaction and potential success of this strategy.
It is reasonable to hypothesize that the recently identified SM-X516B and SM-X616B models are lower-powered versions of the renownedGalaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultradevices which have model numbers SM-X716, SM-X816, and SM-X916 respectively. Therefore it could be concluded that these two tablets belong to Samsung’s Fan Edition series; potentially being released with the name ‘Galaxy Tab S9 FE’.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE Takes After Galaxy A54 5G
As per the online benchmarks, two mysterious tablets were identified to have something in common with the Galaxy A54 5G – they all feature the Exynos 1380 chipset, which is depicted by both the “s5e8835” motherboard and “energy_ware” governor.
For its new mid-range Galaxy A54 5G smartphone, Samsung used the same setup comprising of four Cortex-A78 CPU cores ticking at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 core processors running at a frequency of 2.0GHz in addition to a Mali-G68 MP5 graphics chip for improved visuals.
The Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets could be available as Wi-Fi-only versions, but they haven’t shown up on benchmarks yet. We are unsure if these models will have the same Exynos 1380 chipset with deactivated 5G abilities, an absence of SIM slots and antennas, among other things.
The current benchmarks indicate that the SM-X516B tablet and its larger counterpart, the SM-X616B, have similar single and multi-core performance. While the smaller Galaxy Tab S9 FE should be more affordable with only 6GB of RAM, its bigger sibling touts 8 GB instead – yet for a higher price tag.
Galaxy Tab S9 FE Expected Release Date
Samsung is likely to make a grand reveal of its Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets alongside the premium trio at Unpacked event between August and September. Or it could be even sooner than that since they announced their original Galaxy Tab S7 FE last May.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how they will name these tablets yet so it’s impossible to determine if both versions will have similar names with only a distinction of size or whether one Fan Edition variant might also carry a “Plus” designation as well. In any case, one tablet will surely offer more value for your money compared to the other but ultimately who knows until Samsung makes this official?
