Samsung is showering its budget tablet lineup with updates, as the tech giant has recently begun rolling out One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, Galaxy Tab A8, and Galaxy Tab S7 FE.

Here’s all that you need to know about the One UI 5.1 update for these budget tablets and what all features they are getting.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite receiving One UI 5.1 with February 2023 security patch

The One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite arrives with firmware version T225XXU2CWB3 and a February 2023 security patch to go along with it. This upgrade is already available in India, so it won’t be much longer before other countries will get access too.

If you are an India-based Galaxy Tab A7 Lite user, the One UI 5.1 update is ready for your tablet. You can install it right away by going toSettings > Software Update > Download and Install.

With One UI 5.1, you get a plethora of new features such as enhanced multitasking. By simply dragging the corner of your app window, you can reduce it to a smaller size or make it full-screen. The split-screen multitasking mode is even more efficient as frequently used apps are automatically shown for an improved speed and additional options like font style, Quick Share, touch sensitivity, and wallpaper settings are available.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is a cheap entry-level tablet that should get long software updates. It offers a good performance for its price, a metal body, and four good speakers. Sadly, the battery life is not the best and it does not support an active pen.

You can also easily adjust the color tone of your selfies from within the camera app. You also have access to Shared Family Albums that are up to 5GB in size for sharing photos and videos with other family members who own Samsung phones. Swiping on images or videos allows you to view their EXIF information, as well as edit them directly if desired.

The One UI 5.1 also brings an innovative battery widget that shows the charge level for both the tablet and any connected accessory like wireless earbuds. Plus, in AR Emoji Camera mode three people can each have their personalized emoji face mask. Another plus is that when searching through Settings, search suggestions are now available to simplify things; also screenshots you take with this device can be saved into folders of your choosing.

The Weather app also gets a bump with all essential information displayed at the top of the screen. Additionally, you’ll be able to view an hourly precipitation graph and utilize a convenient Dynamic Weather widget. Last but not least, Samsung Internet has been upgraded so it now presents matched search results from bookmarks and browsing history for more precise searching.

Galaxy Tab A8 (2022) gets One UI 5.1

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor – the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite – now it’s time for the Galaxy Tab A8 (2022) to receive all of the benefits that come along with the One UI 5.1 update. This comprehensive update promises significant improvements and is sure to make your tablet experience even better than before.

The new One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy Tab A8 is currently exclusive to South Korea with the model number SM-X200. This firmware comes with version X200XXU2CWC1 but doesn’t have an up-to-date security patch from January 2023 yet.

Samsung’s new release of One UI 5.1 may not seem monumental but the small improvements add up to major wins. Samsung has truly gone above and beyond with this update; now, even Galaxy Tab A8 users can enjoy an array of freshly improved features.

You will find all of the same improvements as detailed above for Galaxy Tab A7 Lite: Camera and Gallery refinements, streamlined multitasking through split-screen and pop-up view capabilities, an altered Weather app design with improved features, a new battery level widget to help you stay informed on your device’s life expectancy when using it frequently throughout the day plus Samsung Internet webpage continuity when switching between devices—the list goes on.

Right now, the One UI 5.1 update is only available in Korea, but will hopefully make its way to other markets soon. Galaxy Tab A8 (2022) users living where it has been released can easily download the upgrade by simply heading toSettings > Software update > Download and install.
