Microsoft has announced the Surface Pro 10 at the Surface event today. The latest Surface Pro 10 tablet from Microsoft bears a striking resemblance to itspredecessor from two years ago. The new Surface tablet has not undergone any major changes in terms of its design. Therefore, it looks pretty much like the Intel version of the Surface Pro 9. The tablet will be up for grabs for consumers starting April 9.
Microsoft has equipped the 13-inch LCD screen of the Surface Pro 10 with a new anti-reflective coating which, when combined with the brighter display of 600 nits is expected to enhance the quality of the screen and widen the viewing angles.
The Surface Pro 10 for Business comes with two processor options: Core Ultra 5 135U and Core Ultra 7 165U. There’s 8GB RAM on the base model, you can even go for as high as 64GB of RAM. The base model, priced at $1,199, includes a 256GB Gen4 SSD. The tablet boasts two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and a Surface Connect port for charging. Microsoft touts up to 19 hours battery life for the Intel chips. The tablet also features an NFC reader supported by security keys and authentication tools.
One of the key features of the new Surface Pro 10 tablet is the new Intel Core Ultra processor (either 5 or 7). According to Microsoft’s press release, the Surface Pro 10 is up to 53% faster than the Pro 9. It packs a Neural processing Unit in the new chipset that’s aimed at AI-related tasks like Windows Studio Effects, Live Captions, and productivity tools. Microsoft now also offers 5G support on Intel-equipped Surface Pro, previously limited to Qualcomm’s SQ3 processor.
The Surface Pro 10 also got another spec bump in the form of a new ultrawide, 10.5MP webcam. It is capable of recording in 1440p resolution at a 114-degree field of view, which is definitely an improvement from the previous model’s 1080p sensors.
Not just the tablet, Microsoft has also introduced a newSurface Pro keyboardcover. The new improved Surface Pro keyboard features a larger font, improved backlighting, and a new key to launch its AI-powered feature in Windows 11.
