Which Android tablets offer the best battery life? we compared all the devices we reviewed in the last year. Here are the top ten winners.
The battery life is one of the most important features in an Android tablet. Usually, we use them in bed, while watching movies on the sofa or while traveling by train or plane. And we don’t want to have a charging cable running out of them.
We always do the same battery test for all of the tablet reviews to get comparable results. Here are ten Android tablets that got the longest battery life according to my reviews. We only included devices in this list that are not too old. Nobody wants to buy an old Android tablet even if the battery life might be excellent. We will update this list once further tablets are released and tested by us.

As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series dominates the top of the list, with all three models offering an impressive 11 hours of battery life. The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro and Tab M8 Gen 4 also come in strong with 11 and 10 hours of battery life, respectively.
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Redmi Pad 90Hz and Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 are both great choices, offering 10 hours of battery life for under $200.
Ultimately, the best tablet for you will depend on your individual needs and budget. But if you’re looking for a tablet with the best battery life, any of the options on this list is a great place to start.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra: Best Battery Life
The Galaxy Tab S9 series is not only a powerhouse in terms of premium specifications and display, the series also proves its solid performance with the best battery life. Wereviewedall the three tablets in the series and clocked a runtime of 11 hours for each. We think this result is superb especially when we consider Super AMOLED displays on Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra. Samsung is clearly on the right track to challenge Apple by making its tablets more efficient with premium specs. In our battery test for Tab S9 series as well, we looped an HD YouTube video at highest brightness levels.
In terms of other features and specs, the Tab S9 comes with an 11-inch TFT LCD screen and the powerful Snapdragon 888 processor, the Tab S9 packs enough punch without sacrificing battery life. With 11 hours of uninterrupted power, this tablet can easily become your go-to device for watching movies, playing games, and also work tasks.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ comes with a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display. Snapdragon 888 keeps things running smoothly, all while delivering the same impressive 11 hours of battery life as its smaller sibling.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra features a massive 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display that provides ample real estate for multitasking and entertainment. Powered by the Snapdragon 888 and backed by a mammoth 1TB storage option, this tablet tackles demanding tasks with ease. And don’t worry about running out of juice – the S9 Ultra boasts the same 11 hours of battery life as its smaller counterparts.
Lenovo Tab M8 Gen 4: Great Battery Comes With One Limitation
Even though the Lenovo Tab M8 Gen 4 is a budget tablet, it got surprisingly good resultsin our battery test. In fact, it has a runtime of around 11 hours which is impressive at its pricing.
Obviously, we’re not getting the best internal hardware here. You get an 8.7-inch IPS LCD screen and MediaTek Helio G80 processor. But there’s one big problem with this tablet, it comes with widevine level of L3 only, which means that you cannot watch Netflix with HD resolution. Movies and TV shows can be watched in SD quality only. As a saving grace though, you can select HD on YouTube.
Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2: Battery Meets Productivity
In ourbattery test, the P11 Pro Gen 2 scored a runtime of 10.5 hours. That’s a really good result, especially considering that the display is so bright. For this test, we played an HD YouTube video at maximum brightness on loop.
Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 boasts an 11.2-inch OLED display and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G96 processor. The tablet strikes a good balance between entertainment and gaming tablet and will also appeal to students thanks to its stylus and keyboard cover. It does have minor shortcomings like lack of a fingerprint sensor and a plastic body. But in our review, we did not come across any major weaknesses. It does pack some handy features like you can use the tablet as a screen for a Windows device or easily connect an external monitor to the tablet and use it like a PC.
Amazon Fire HD 10 2023: Best Battery on Budget
While not a premium tablet, the Fire HD 10 does offer some interesting features, including an active stylus this year. And one of its most impressive specs is its battery life. In abattery testrunning an HD YouTube video at maximum brightness in an endless loop, the tablet achieved 10 hours. It features a 10.1-inch IPS LCD screen and is powered by an Amazon AZ1 chipset.
Overall, the Fire HD 10 is a solid and usable tablet for its price. At under $150, it’s a good value for casual users who enjoy Netflix, Prime Video, internet browsing, and light gaming.
Lenovo Tab M9: Best Value for Money
In the budget tablet segment, the 9-inch Lenovo Tab M9 stands out from the crowd. Sporting a price tag around $160, it packs a Helio G80 processor, Android 12, and a surprisingly bright display into a compact package.
One of the Tab M9’s key strengths lies in its battery life. In ourbattery test, it clocked in at 9 hours with an HD YouTube video running on loop at max brightness. This is a solid result, especially considering the display’s brightness. For casual users looking for a tablet that won’t die mid-movie, the Tab M9 delivers.
Beyond battery life, the Tab M9 offers decent performance for the price. The Helio G80 processor handles everyday tasks like browsing and light gaming. Additionally, the pure Android experience and solid build quality are welcome bonuses.
Redmi Pad SE: Budget Buy With Good Battery
The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE features an 11-inch 90Hz display under $200. One of the Redmi Pad SE’s standout features is its 8.75-hour battery life, achieved inour testswith an HD YouTube video running on loop at max brightness. This is particularly impressive for a budget tablet, making it a reliable companion for travel and binge watching. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset backs this budget device with decent speakers.
The only limitations comes in the form of laggy graphics performance for demanding games. Additionally, the lack of an official keyboard cover or active pen makes it less ideal for work or study.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+: Mid-ranger With Good Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ occupies a curious space. A 12.4-inch Android tablet, it strikes a balance between premium features and mid-range pricing. But how does its battery life stack up in this equation? Inour review, the S9 FE+ clocked in at 8 hours with an HD YouTube video on loop at max brightness and 90Hz refresh rate. While not the greatest, this battery life ensures you’ll enjoy movies, web browsing, and light tasks without worrying about power running out.
The performance on this one is not as great as the Tab S9 series. A Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset powers this tablet with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB internal storage. It’s brownie point comes with the S-Pen.
Xiaomi Pad 6: Good Specs with Decent Battery
The Xiaomi Pad 6 boasts a 144Hz display, a refined stylus, and powerful hardware. In ourbattery test, the Pad 6 clocked in at 8.15 hours with an HD YouTube video running at max brightness and the display set to its native 144Hz refresh rate. While not the longest-lasting tablet out there, it’s still a decent result, especially considering the 144Hz display. Lowering the refresh rate to 90Hz or 60Hz can squeeze out a few more hours of battery life, offering greater flexibility depending on your needs.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor powers the tablet. You get an 11-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. The tablet is also compatible with the Xiaomi Pen.
How do we test the battery life on tablets?
In all of our reviews, we always do the same battery test. We are running an HD video over and over again until the tablets shut themselves off. Brightness is always set at 50 percent, audio is deactivated and WiFi is always turned on. We uninstall apps like Facebook that search the web for updates constantly but there are notifications coming in from Gmail occasionally.
With this battery test, we get relatively good comparable results. But it’s not perfect. A lot of other factors play a role when it comes to battery life including the brightness of the different displays and also customized user interfaces by the manufacturers. Sometimes their preinstalled apps and features are not very battery friendly and you might get better results by deactivating them or even using different launchers.
