Vivo Pad 2 Launched with 12.1-inch Display, Dimensity 9000, and 10000mAh Battery

After a series ofleaks, Vivo has finally released a second flagship tablet, the Vivo Pad 2, following the launch of its first tablet last year. The Vivo Pad 2 is a high-end tablet with an upgraded screen, hardware, performance, audio, and productivity features. Despite having a large screen, it is lightweight and compact thanks to its thin bezel and high screen-to-body ratio. The device has a metallic body that is only 6.59 mm thick and weighs 585 g. Additionally, the body is made of high-grade aluminum alloy, giving it a premium texture.

The Vivo Pad 2’s screen size has increased to 12.1 inches from 11 inches last year. The new screen has a 7:5 golden ratio and offers 27.3% more display area than the previous screen. The horizontal and vertical screens can show more content, making the web page and files experience closer to a PC. The screen and portrait screen is also comfortable. Essentially, this device provides a PC-like experience for users. Its display has HDR10+ certification, 2.8K retina-level ultra-clear resolution, and can handle 144Hz e-sports-level high-brush smoothness. Additionally, it has a peak brightness of 600nits and displays 1.07 billion colors.

This screen has advanced eye protection features including the world’s first chip-level intelligent anti-blue light technology. It has also passed German Rheinland low blue light certification and supports a natural light-like anti-fatigue brightness adjustment technology to alleviate visual fatigue caused by prolonged use of the tablet.

Chipset and Battery

The Vivo Pad 2 has a powerful 10,000 mAh battery with 44W flash charging that can fully charge the device in just 139 minutes, as claimed by the company. The tablet is equipped with a Dimensity 9000 SoC, which utilizes advanced 4nm technology and boasts an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, capable of reaching a maximum frequency of 3.05GHz. Additionally, this tablet offers up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.The audio capabilities of the Vivo Pad 2 consist of a self-designed super audio system, a 10.2cc large sound chamber, and Vivo’s unique Super Audio sound effect. These features are touted to create a more immersive sound experience and enhance the overall audiovisual experience.

This high-end tablet has an 8MP front camera for taking selfies and a dual rear camera setup with a 13MP main camera and a 2MP supporting sensor. Additionally, it supports a 5Gbps high-speed USB-C port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and more.

Additional Features, Accessories

The Vivo Pad 2 now includes a newly developed stylus, smart touch keyboard, and other accessories. Vivo has also fully optimized the large-screen ecosystem of the Vivo Pad 2, fixing the issue of third-party apps not being adjustable to horizontal screens. The first UI adaptive engine in the market has made this possible. Additionally, more than 4,000 apps are now ideal for the big-screen ecosystem.

The Vivo Pad 2 has features such as one-touch screen projection, one-touch file transfer, and one-touch task transfer that allow for easy use of the PC platform like Samsung DeX. Additionally, it enables the sharing of a keyboard and mouse with another device and the ability to copy and paste between screens. It has specifically collaborated with WPS to improve office experience on mobile platforms. WithWPS open on the tablet, it offers multitasking with small windows and can open more documents than a PC.

At the official launch event, Vivo revealed the following prices for the Vivo Pad 2:

Currently, there is a discount available for the 8GB + 128GB model of the product, which brings the starting price down to just 2399 yuan ($349). The 12GB + 512GB version will be released at a later date, and the price for this model is not yet known. Additionally, Vivo has launched a stylus called the Vivo Pencil 2, which costs 499 yuan ($73). They have also introduced a smart touch keyboard 2 for 599 yuan ($87). If you purchase both accessories together, Vivo is offering a 50 yuan ($7) discount.
